Cindy Waszak Geary, after decades of work and travel as a social scientist, has refocused her creative energy on photography and writing about social justice through personal reflection. The launch of her new book, Ancestral Landscapes, is planned for late this summer; the release of the2nd edition of Going to School in Black and White (co-authored with LaHoma Smith Romocki) is scheduled for early fall.

Memoir

She published her first book, Going to School in Black and White: A Dual Memoir of Desegregation, co-authored with LaHoma Smith Romocki, in 2017.

Projects

She is currently working on The Ancestor Project, combining words and photographic images to document her exploration into how the lives of her ancestors live on in hers.

When not taking pictures or writing, she practices kundalini yoga, hikes in the woods, and volunteers at the nearby Farm at Penny Lane.
